If you love Short Ribs, you need to get over to Tin Drum to have these tasty limited time options!
Last year, I visited Tin Drum Asia Cafe for the first time. If you aren’t familiar with Tin Drum they have ten locations in the Atlanta area. The menu features offerings from different regions in Asia including India, China and Thailand. The restaurant was founded by Steve Chan, who launched the restaurant as a homage to the Asian street food he grew up on. What’s more is that Tin Drum’s executive chef developed the recipes after spending time sampling the many cuisines of Asia.
Entrees at Tin Drum Asia Cafe are made to order and each entree is a generous portion. Plus, Tin Drum is very affordable with all entrees under $8. Oh and I love that they have Thai Iced Tea which I get every time I visit. So tasty!
Legend has it that in ancient times, there was a man who would walk the streets beating on a tin drum, calling the locals together to laugh, listen to music, catch up on gossip, and most importantly, share a meal. This man was known, not surprisingly, as the Tin Drummer.
People would follow the Tin Drummer into the colorful cafes that called from the sidewalks, filling them with the buzz of lively conversation against the clamor of pots and pans and the dizzying scents of sizzling woks. Everyone delighted equally in the simple joy of the foods they loved.
In celebration of Chinese New Year, Tin Drum Asia Cafe is offering limited time specials. The Chinese New Year specials at Tin Drum are both centered around Short Ribs. One special, the Chinatown short ribs are Chinese “Peking” style BBQ short ribs, glazed carrot, red onion, roasted garlic, bok choy, Chinese cabbage slaw topped with chopped green onion. The glaze on the short ribs is a delightful mixture of sweet with a slight tang. Plus, I love the crunchiness the carrots and slaw bring to the tacos.
The tacos come with an order of two and are $6.95. The Peking Short Rib Noodles are $7.95. Don’t want to do the carbs? No problem. Order the skewers alone. Skewers are $4.75 for an order of two and $6.75 for an order of four. But hurry if you want to try these items at Tin Drum Asia Cafe. They are only available until 4/3.
