Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party

Dr. Bombay's Underwater Tea Party

With a name like Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party, you kinda know you are going to have a good time, right? This small kitschy spot tucked away in Candler Park serves up coffee and sweet treats. But once a month they have a fundraiser, which I attended last month.

For $20 per person, we were treated to wine (nothing fancy – the Two Buck Chuck variety) and appetizer and vegetarian entree. Makeshift tables are pulled together to accommodate the filled to capacity (about 40 people) room. While wine was readily available, most seemed to prefer the iced Darjeeling tea to wash down the savoy, spicy food.

Dr. Bombay’s sells packs of tea and other items to raise funds for their charity work. The dinners take place the last Monday of each month.
