Summer Strawberry Menu at Figo Pasta

Figo Pasta has been celebrating summer by highlighting summer fruits with a special monthly menu. August’s fruit is strawberries. Figo’s Summer Sagra Menu features a three-course meal features a Bruschetta, Veal Ravioli and Nutella Ravioli for dessert. The limited time menu is only available through August and is available on Saturdays and Sundays at all 7 Figo Pasta locations.

When I visited the Vinings location this past Saturday evening, the patio was in high demand, with only one table inside occupied. This seems to be a favorite for families with poorly behaving children, so if you are headed there with a group or on a date, don’t come until eight, when the rug rats are gone.

Antipasti: Bruschetta alla Fragola

This bruschetta is as delicious as it is beautiful. Georgia cherry tomatoes and Florida strawberries are layered atop toasted ciabatta slices with a smear of goat cheese. The basil and strawberry balsamic were the perfect addition to this starter. I didn’t realize how large it was – we ordered one each but two could easily share it. And it’s only $5.95.

Main:Ossobuco Ravioli

FIGO braises veal shanks until fork tender and then fills it into the ravioli. A butter parmesan emulsion is drizzled on top followed by a strawberry black pepper glaze. I loved that the strawberry balsamic added a subtle layer of sweet along with the salty parmesan cream. This filling dish is only $12.

Dolci: Ravioli di Nutella

The pasta dough is infused with fresh strawberries, then filled with a creamy mixture of Nutella, ricotta and mascarpone. Be careful when you bite into this. I picked one whole ravioli up and bit into it and chocolate spewed out of the side all over the table. Tip: Bite the end off first, that way, chocolate won’t go flying everywhere. Took me two raviolis to figure this out. Perfect way to end the evening sharing this dessert, well if you don’t get it all over your date like I nearly did. $5. Remember this limited time menu is only available on Saturday (8/18 or 8/25) or Sunday (8/19 or 8/26) at Figo Pasta. Disclosure: This meal was complimentary. However, opinions expressed are my own.
