Achie’s at the Omni Hotel in The Battery fuel for morning, noon and night

Hugh Acheson is dazzling Atlantans once again, with Achie’s located in the Battery at Suntrust Park.

There are a dizzying number of restaurants inside Suntrust Park. I’ve been trying to make my way through them, but haven’t been able to hit up some of the ones I’ve wanted to try just yet. And the list keeps growing. And now, the Omni Hotel is open at The Battery.

Naturally, with all the heavy hitters already having invaded the restaurant scene they needed a top notch chef to helm the hotel restaurant. And what a good choice they made with James Beard Foundation award-winning chef and author, Hugh Acheson. Achie’s feels both upscale enough that you can get dressed up for it, but also wear jeans and feel totally comfortable as well. Our evening started off with a champagne cocktail and we had a sample of some of the menu highlights at dinner.

Hot chicken and beet salad at Achie’s at the Battery, Atlanta

Achie’s serves southern-inspired fare with quality-sourced ingredients. The restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. At breakfast, I’d opt for their Sweet Georgia Ice cream. Wait – it’s healthier than it sounds. It’s made with creamed grits, figs and brown sugar. Of course there are more traditional options like the French Omelette or chicken biscuit. Don’t miss out on their power juices. Pictured above are two very different items: a spicy chicken sandwich and the beet salad, so there’s something for everyone at Achie’s.

Love the craft cocktail options at the Battery’s Achie’s in the Omni Hotel

For the fall, the scallops have some roasted fall vegetables added to the dish and it delicious. I highly recommend getting that.  It gets pricey at dinner with meat / fish entrees around the $30 and above price point. So, if you are looking to save money, dine at lunch. But dinner at Achie’s at The Battery is worth it for a splurge.  I love how the cocktails at Achie’s even have their own healthy injection with fruit flavors. I especially enjoyed the Achie’s Gin and Tonic with blueberry, mind and cardamom. Pictured above is the Two World Hero cocktail with whiskey, vermouth and red wine bitters, reminiscent of a Manhattan.
