Bonefish Grill has date night covered for $50.
Bonefish Grill, has locations in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. The drink list is as large as the menu with lots of specialty cocktails. I stuck to the Perfect Patron Cucumber Margarita, a nice departure from most of the gin-based cucumber cocktails you find. This comes with St. Germain Elderflower liqueur. If you like Sangria, they make a special house red or white sangria for just $5.50. The wine list is expansive and representative of many varietals and price ranges from just over $5 to nearly $15 per glass.
In addition to the regular menu, Bonefish Grill also has seasonal specialties. One of those includes Norwegian Salmon with Jim Beam Bacon Butter Jam. I was pleasantly surprised to see this enticing dish on Bonefish Grill’s Two Can Dine menu. The $50 deal includes a shared appetizer, two entrees and shared dessert. Since the entree I wanted, Haddock, was on this special menu, it was a no brainer to go for this deal.
Managing parter, Jeff, told me he’s really proud of the changes that they’ve made at Bonefish Grill including, using real butter to cook and light seasoning / minimal sauces on the fresh fish that they serve letting the quality of the food shine through. Insider Tip: He also shared with me that there will be a fourth Bonefish Grill coming to Atlanta. Where will it be? Not too far from the new
Burbs Braves Stadium in Cobb County.
Not to beat a dead horse, but I have to reiterate how impressed I am with what is available with the two can dine for $50 menu at Bonefish Grill. Choose from ANY appetizer, not just chicken skewers or whatever the cheapest appetizer is (I’m looking at you restaurant week menus). We chose the Bang Bang Shrimp (pictured at the top of the page), a crispy shrimp with a sweet sauce. Adding ceviche was smart choice on our part. It was hearty and we loved the addition of sweet pineapple chunks and bay scallops. Mussels and calamari are perennial favorites on the Bonefish Grill appetizer list as well.
The Haddock with feta, artichokes and a lemon basil sauce was really some of the best Haddock I’ve every tasted. The feta and artichokes were very complimentary and the sauce was not overbearing in the slightest. If you are dead set on staying within the $50 budget, do NOT let your eyes wonder over the deluxe sides, or you’ll be hooked like I was. The moment I saw the Truffle Mac + Cheese and Crab Fried Rice, I was hooked. And they were so worth it. In fact, they were so large, I had them for lunches the following two days. Yes each of these sides made a perfectly portioned leftover lunch. However, my hubby ate most of his asparagus and mashed sweet potatoes. Theses deluxe sides at Bonefish Grill are a $3 upgrade each and can send your bill soaring, but so worth it!
We were so stuffed, we asked for our dessert to be boxed up as well. I really wanted to savor the Key lime pie, made with real key limes, not just have a few bite and toss it.
Disclosure: Bonefish Grill provided me with a gift card towards me meal. But the opinions expressed are my own.
