Bruegger’s operates 300 bakeries / stores in 26 states in North America. And apparently they have quite a loyal following. I was invited to their grand opening media kickoff and just a few tweets from me seemed to ignite a ton of excitement about Bruegger’s opening in Atlanta.
Besides bagels, this quick service bakery offers premium cream cheeses, custom-made sandwiches, signature soups and coffee varieties. When Bruegger’s began in 1983, they worked with a professional bagel baker from New York City for 2 1/2 years to perfect their recipe and baking process.
Bruegger’s offers 15 different types of bagels and 12 different flavors of cream cheese spreads. Breakfast bagel sandwiches are around $4. Sandwiches and salads are also available, priced around $6. I enjoyed going back to the bakery to see the bagels being made fresh and the two sandwiches I sampled, the Herby Turkey and Tarragon Chicken Salad were marvelous.
What would bagels be without coffee? I sampled some delicious varieties of coffee. Bruegger’s French Roast is Rainforest Alliance Certified, which means it is committed to the environment, wildlife and workers. Some special flavors change out every month or two. They were featuring coconut flavored coffee which I’m a big fan of.
- Bruegger’s even has a “Skinny Menu” with everything 500 calories or less including bagel sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and salads.
- Buy a Bottomless Mug to save $$. It includes free refills on coffee, tea and sodas for a full year.
- They have a bin with “yesterday’s bagels” Get half dozen for $3.
- Bruegger’s is very active in supporting the communities they are in. For example, for each new like they receive of Facebook through 6/21, they will donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Bruegger’s first Atlanta location is near the intersection of Powers Ferry and Northside. But this is just the first of several to come in the Atlanta area. Bruegger’s plans to open several locations on the north side of town in the coming year(s).
