This North Cobb diner has impressive dishes morning, noon and night.
Need a hearty egg breakfast to start your day? Or just craving breakfast for lunch? Maybe someone else in your party wants ribs, or fish and chips. That’s the great thing about diners isn’t it? They have a ton of options and serve a full menu all day. Well, breakfast is served until 4 pm.
Diner Bakery Company in Kennesaw is no exception with a sleek, modern look and feel. Shiny concrete floors and a tempting array of desserts greet you as you enter. Chrome bar stools, chairs, dark tiled walls and teal booths can be found inside Diner Bakery Company.
There’s a cocktail menu if you want it, but I wanted something from a different sort of bar…the Barista bar at Diner Bakery Company. Though they have frozen coffee drinks and an assortment of Cappuccinos, I debated between a Cortado and a Dirty Chai before settling on the latter. They even have their own version of this topped with cocoa if you like.
The ribs, pictured above, are meaty and enough for two to share the full rack. I’m glad we tried those, but it really is difficult to make a choice. There are 11 different kind of burgers, including a donut burger, not to mention open faced sandwiches, piled high with ingredients. And then there’s Diner Burger Company’s section of Extreme Grilled Cheese sandwiches.
Pictured at the top is the Waffle Benedict. Though Diner Bakery Company offers 10 different kinds of benedicts, the Waffle Benedict is one of the most popular. Can I just tell you how perfect the hollandaise sauce was? OMG. This perfect hangover food was fantastic, but when I go back, I think I’d go for the Carpese Benedict or the Florentine Benedict. Though if you want a true gut buster, there’s the Country Benedict: Two Poached Eggs, Country Fried Steak, on a biscuit, topped with Hollandaise and white pepper gravy.
Of course, there’s also the lunch and dinner selections. It was so much, with steaks, seafood, Italian specialties and more, you’d have to visit about a dozen times to get a good feel for the offerings. But it’s so worth it as everything owner Billy Liakakos serves is quality. His family has been in the restaurant business for decades, brother, James, being the owner of Sage Woodfire Tavern.
There’s a section on the menu at Diner Bakery Company called “Diner Value Classics” which are priced at $10.29. Lasagna, Pot Roast, Meatloaf and other perennial diner favorites make the cut here. But we didn’t sample any of those. We tried the Fish & Chips and the breading, was so light I don’t know how it stayed on. It is so different from the many restaurants that are all batter and no fish, right?
