Divan Restaurant, located amidst the Buckhead landscape, presents fine Mediterranean/Persian dining with a smooth atmosphere.

One of the perks associated with further advanced travel options would be the ability to enjoy a meal across the world in less time than it takes to watch an inning of playoff baseball. However, until that day comes, we can appreciate the fact that cultural diversity across the world has brought with it the sharing of food and taste influences, which is made vividly apparent right here in our great city of Atlanta.
After a hectic day at the office and surviving Atlanta traffic, a rejuvenating cocktail or two and a few bites to eat are well-deserved. Divan provides a wonderful option to accommodate both needs. The set up is a lounge style restaurant, so it is great for small groups of friends as well as those who enjoy the company of more than just themselves. But it is probably not the best place for a first date.
The Divan menu offers a few traditional Mediterranean favorites including their “Hummus Duo with Tabouleh” served with their fresh “Tandoori Naan Bread”, which can be consumed in rather large quantities. It would be wise to pair their “Spicy Shrimp” alongside the Hummus Duo, but those who are especially keen on taste adventures should try the “Turkey and Pistachio Kufta”. The Kufta is like a turkey meatball, enhanced with a medley of herbs and spices and topped with a pomegranate glaze that could not be more dynamic. Pair this with a fine red wine- Pinot Noir would go well with the lean meat and sharp pomegranate sauce.
Moving on to a few of the main courses, no regret can come from choosing the classic kebabs- “Springer Mountain Safron Chicken Kabob”, “Creekstone Natural Angus Hanger Steak Kabab” and “Divan’s Spice Blend Lamb Kabab”. One of the more distinct dishes had to be the “Basil Caramelized Sea Scallops”, which offered a sweeter flavor to balance out the range of tastes on the menu. In fact, all of the seafood was fresh, wonderfully cooked, and prepared in a handful of ways.
For dessert, there can be no arguing with the “Persian Doughnuts”. These melt-in-the-mouth, sweet treats were topped with orange honey and come with a sour cherry anglaise and a coffee-chocolate sauce. Something that tastes as good as these doughy concoctions must be healthy, right? For a lighter option, try the “Saffron Ice Cream (Akbar Mashti)”. This isn’t for everyone… unique flavors of rose water and fresh mint make this dish a little bit more narrowly attractive, but would provide the option to boast on social media platforms.
Divan is a shining example of the diverse food experiences that can be enjoyed in Atlanta. The overall vibe transports guests from stressed out city life to relaxing under a Mediterranean moonlight with a cool breeze (and perhaps a cocktail and Hookah alongside). Divan can accommodate groups of varying sizes, and private dining is available, just ask them.
