Must have New Year’s Eve Drink – Apple Cider Hot Toddy

I came across this recipe for a Hot Apple Cider Toddy. It might be a little unconventional for New Year’s Eve, as everyone seems to want Champagne for the festive celebration, but if you want a drink that is going to warm you up, check out this Apple Cider Hot Toddy.

This New Year’s Eve, I won’t be out, partying around the A, as I have in previous years. I’ll be at home enjoying a nice bottle of wine, good food, and friends and at some point this drink. Whatever you end up doing, have fun and be safe! Cheers!

This NYE cocktail (apple cider hot toddy)  makes two drinks:

3 oz dark rum
12 oz (1 1/2) cup apple cider
Ground cinnamon to taste
Maple syrup to taste (2-3 teaspoons)
2 fat lemon wedges

Pour rum into a large mug. In a small saucepan, warm cider over medium heat (do not boil). Season to taste with cinnamon and maple syrup. Squeeze in the juice of one lemon wedge, and add more if desired. Pour into mug and serve.
