Gas grills are so last decade. Pellet Grills are the wave of the future. In our house we have a gas grill AND a Big Green Egg. But Traeger reached out to me to give their pellet grills a try, I decided why not? After several months of cooking on a pellet grill, I’m a convert.
Listen up, grillers and entertainers! If you’re still using a gas or charcoal grill, it’s time to step up your grilling game with a pellet grill. Pellet grills are the ultimate choice for those who take their grilling seriously, offering a range of benefits that will elevate your outdoor cooking experience, not only because they heat up so fast, but they offer more cooking options than strictly grilling.
One thing I wasn’t prepared for? The added bonus of your friends offering to come and cook for you on your grill, just so they can try it! I didn’t object. So far, a friend made us Tri-Tip and Ribs that we devoured.
If you consider yourself a grilling enthusiast, then it’s time to take your game to the next level with this superior choice in outdoor cooking. Say goodbye to the hassle of charcoal and the inconsistency of gas grills – pellet grills offer a convenient, efficient, and flavorful grilling experience that will elevate your BBQ skills to new heights.
Besides the steak and ribs mentioned above, we’ve made chicken quarters and salmon. Now the steak and the ribs knocked our socks off, no doubt about that, but I have to admit the smoky flavor on the chicken and salmon really put them over the edge and I can’t think of cooking either one another way after having it on the pellet grill.
Here are the top reasons why I believe a pellet grill is the superior grilling choice:
- Versatility: Pellet grills are the Swiss Army knife of outdoor cooking. With a pellet grill, you can grill, smoke, bake, roast, braise, and barbecue all in one. The versatility of pellet grills allows you to experiment with different cooking techniques and flavors, giving you the freedom to cook a wide range of dishes with ease. Though we’ve used our grill, mostly for, well, grilling, I did enjoy the smoke feature on the Traeger Timberline grill and we did make some delectable bbq ribs!
- Consistent Temperature Control: One of the biggest advantages of pellet grills is their precise temperature control. With our gas grill, we’d always be taking off steaks and cutting into them to make sure they were done. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Pellet grills use an electronic control system that allows you to set and maintain the desired temperature throughout the cooking process. This means no more fluctuating temperatures, no more hot spots, and no more burnt or undercooked food. With a pellet grill, we’ve gotten excellent results every time.
- Flavorful Results: Pellet grills use hardwood pellets as fuel, which impart a delicious smoky flavor to your food. The natural wood smoke adds a depth of flavor that you can’t get with gas or charcoal grills. Whether you’re grilling steaks or smoking ribs, the rich wood smoke flavor will take your dishes to the next level. I’m totally going to try baking a pizza on my grill next. I can almost taste how good the smoky flavoring will add the pie!
- Easy to Use: Pellet grills are incredibly user-friendly. Simply fill the hopper with wood pellets, set the desired temperature on the control panel, and let the grill do the rest. There’s no need to constantly monitor the grill or adjust the temperature manually. With a pellet grill, you can set it and forget it, allowing you to relax and enjoy the cooking process.
- Clean and Efficient: One thing I hate is cleanup after making a big meal. Don’t you? Pellet grills produce less ash and smoke compared to charcoal grills, making them cleaner and more environmentally friendly. The wood pellets used in pellet grills are also made from natural hardwood, free of additives or chemicals, ensuring a clean and flavorful cooking experience.
I live in Atlanta, and Traeger occasionally has cooking demos. And, as the proud new owner of a Timberline Grill, I thought it appropriate I attend a cooking demo..er..eating demo at a local Atlanta favorite restaurant. The restaurant, a Mexican style, had the music up on a warm spring day and we reveled in the tacos: Tofu (you’d be surprised how this smoky flavor is absorbed and goes well with tofu), chicken and steak. I was certainly intrigued that they were cooking all kinds of meats, even seafood, on the grill.
If you’re serious about outdoor cooking and want to elevate your grilling experience, a pellet grill is the way to go. With their versatility, precise temperature control, flavorful results, ease of use, and efficiency, pellet grills offer a superior grilling experience that surpasses gas and charcoal grills. So, make the switch to a pellet grill today and take your outdoor cooking to the next level. Trust us, once you experience the benefits of a pellet grill, you’ll never look back!
Summer is here! So why not take the plunge and buy a pellet grill for yourself? You won’t regret it! Happy grilling!
