Red Sky Tapas: one stop fun for martinis, tapas and dueling pianos

This Marietta tapas spot is the perfect spot for group dining and entertainment

After visiting some great dueling piano bars in various cities, I was happy to discover that Red Sky has dueling pianos on weekends. But it is not only a dueling piano bar. It is also a Martini bar as well as a tapas bar, though I didn’t have the opportunity to try any martinis on my visit, instead opting for a cranberry mule (see below left).

Hubby and I had a mid-week date night at Red Sky Tapas in Marietta. Since it was their Christmas pop up it was extremely popular. I bet any other time of year and you could easily get in on a week night with no waiting and have a quiet date night. If you want a fun group outing in East Cobb / Marietta reserve a table for dueling pianos at Red Sky on Friday or Saturday nights. Believe me, you will need a reservation.  Don’t even think about just walking in as this is a popular venue for the East Cobb crowd. The area around the dueling pianos is a rather small space, so any table at Red Sky provides for good viewing of the entertainment.

I’d been to Red Sky tapas before and thought the Ahi tuna was incredible, but on this visit, the consistency and taste didn’t match with Ahi grade, so it was a good thing we ordered some other plates a Red Sky in Marietta. Last time, I went seafood heavy with crab cakes, lobster rolls and calamari. But this time I focused on the Caprese flatbread, lamb meatballs and duck and they didn’t disappoint me.

Since my initial visit Red Sky Tapas has also added several entrees to their menu. The entree portions come with a side and are more in the $20+ price range. Hubby spotted the duck on the menu and I’m delighted he ordered it because it was the best thing we tried! In fact, it is some of the best duck I’ve had in a long time. There’s an orange ginger glaze that is delicious.
