The sun never sets in these 6 places [that’s why you need to visit them]

The world is filled with amazing and fascinating destinations, and imagine what a shame it would be not to experience them while we can. There are some places where the sun doesn’t set for months, and it is always daytime. The lifestyle of people in these areas is quite different from the rest of the world, and visiting these places can be a once in a lifetime experience. 

If you feel like the days go by very quickly while traveling, that is a problem you won’t have to face in these countries. Therefore, if you are looking for a different and unique place to travel to on your next vacation, plan a trip to one of the six destinations mentioned below. 

Norway – where there’s sun for 20 hours a day

Norway, the land of the midnight sun, is named so because of the fascinating nature of this country. From early May to late July, you can expect the sun to shine bright for 20 hours a day. In some northern regions of the country like Svalbard, the sun doesn’t set from mid-April to August. 

Therefore, visiting Norway can be an exciting and fascinating experience; furthermore, Norway is one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. The cities like Oslo and bergen display the iconic Scandinavian architecture, and you should visit Trolltunga, Pulpit rock, and Geirangerfjord, which are some of the most majestic natural landmarks in Norway. 

Iceland:

Iceland, the second largest island in Europe, is also one of the least populated countries. Iceland is a truly fascinating country, which seems as if it’s out of this world. There are several unique and breathtaking things to see in Iceland, from the unique combination of volcanoes and glaciers to the northern lights. 

There are also some regions in Iceland, where the sun stays up from early May to late July. With all the other unique features of this country, it is a must-visit destination for every traveler. Iceland has some of the most amazing mountains, cliffs, and natural hot springs.  If you want to experience the breathtaking natural beauty of Iceland, visit Thingvellir national park. You should also visit Seljalandsfoss, which is a 200 feet tall waterfall. Don’t forget to check out the blue lagoon hot spring resort as well. 

A majority of the population in Iceland lives close to the capital Reykjavik, a lively and fantastic city. There are many amazing sights to see in Reykjavik, the Hallgrimskirkja cathedral is a must-see modern cathedral, which shows the inventiveness of Scandinavian architecture.

The Bahamas [very long sun-filled days]

The Bahamas is located nowhere near the poles of the earth; in fact, it is very close to the equator, so what is it doing on its list? Well, we don’t have to be that strict with the rules, do we? Though the sun does set every day in the Bahamas, and the days are exceptionally long, either the sun is so pleasant in this region of the world, that it is worth traveling. 

The turquoise waters and the long white sand beaches invite thousands of tourists every year. The Bahamas is known to have some of the most amazing beaches and resorts in the world.

Don’t forget to visit Cable beach, in Nassau, one of the liveliest and best beaches in the world. Furthermore, love beach is an excellent spot if you are traveling with your partner. You should also check out the several water parks, restaurants, and resorts of the Bahamas. 

There are also several Private Islands in the Bahamas that you can invest in if you want. Some private islands also have villas and resorts made on them, which are a great place to stay if you wish to someplace less crowded. 

Alaska [summer sun 

Alaska is the northernmost, and the coldest states in the US, and it is another country, where the sun stays on the horizon continuously for a long time. From early May to the end of July the sun is out all the time, whereas in the winter, the sun doesn’t come up as well. 

Alaska has a lot of amazing destinations that are unaffected and preserved. If you want to experience the breathtaking sceneries of Alaska, you should visit Kenai Fjords National Park, Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, and Denali National Park. You can also visit the 13 miles long Mendenhall Glacier, one of the longest in the country. 

Finland [continuous sunshine day and night all summer long]

Finland is another Scandinavian country where the sun shines continuously for a long time. In the summer months, the sun doesn’t go down for 73 days. 

Finland is famous for its fantastic skiing destinations, and you can also see the northern lights. You should take some time to visit Suomenlinna, a Sea fortress and a UNESCO World Heritage site near Helsinki, the capital of Finland.  You should also visit the Sibelius monument, and the Helsinki Cathedral are also fantastic destinations to check out in Helsinki. 

Sweden [where the sun never sets]

Sweden is a great country to visit if you want to experience the never-setting sun. Sweden isn’t as cold as some of the other countries on this list, and it is a trendy tourist destination. Though the sun doesn’t stay up for the complete 24 hours, as it does in Norway, you can expect 20 hours long days. From May to August, the sun sets at midnight during the summer months, and it is back up at 4:30 Am. 

There are several exciting activities to do and sights to see in Sweden. There are many spectacular skiing resorts to visit, and you can also go to some of the best fishing trips in the world. 

Stockholm, the Capital of Sweden, is a must-visit city. Here you can visit a Nobel museum and Vasa museum.  You should also visit the Gröna Lund theme park, one of the most popular attractions in Stockholm. 

There are many amazing and fascinating travel destinations in the world, but none of them come close to the unique places mentioned in this post. Therefore, if you want a vacation that takes you off the beaten path, you should consider visiting Finland.
