How to create a relaxing at-home spa day without spending much

Life moves way too fast and everybody needs a simple way to rest their weary mind. Paying for a high class spa visit usually costs way too much hard earned cash. You can make your own peaceful quiet getaway right at home for next to nothing. A tiny bit of quick planning and standard household things are all you really need. Grab your warmest towel get nice and cozy and enjoy total peace right now.

Hydrate with fancy water

Mixing cold ice water with sliced lemons and cucumbers is a great way to start your day. It helps you stay hydrated inside while giving you a fancy experience. You get to enjoy a gorgeous drink that belongs in a high end spa without having to spend much money.

Set the perfect mood

Turn off those blinding overhead lights and grab a few nice candles to make the room feel better. Dim lighting tricks your head into relaxing so you can forget about the messy house. It is cheap as hell and totally changes the mood.

Steam your face carefully

You honestly don’t need to spend big money on a fancy steamer to clean your pores out. All you gotta do is grab a washcloth run it under some warm tap water and stick it on your face for a few minutes. It feels super cozy and warm and gets your skin ready for whatever skincare you do next.

Apply a face mask

Find a sheet mask you bought ages ago or just use honey and yogurt from your kitchen. Put it on your face and take a moment to just close your eyes and kick back. Try not to scare your dog or your family when you walk around looking funny.

Use a simple body scrub

Hop in the shower and grab a cheap sugar scrub to smooth out your skin. You can even make your own by mixing brown sugar with a little olive oil from the kitchen. Rub it gently all over your arms and legs and wash it away with warm water.

Soak in a warm bath

Fill up the tub with nice warm water and dump in some epsom salts so your sore body can finally relax. You can stay in there forever because nobody is banging on the door waiting for their turn. Just turn your brain off and enjoy doing nothing for once.

Moisturize your skin

Don’t wait till you’re totally dry to put your lotion on. Do it right when you step out of the shower while your skin is still wet. It traps all that water in and keeps you soft all day long plus you smell amazing.

Put on a fluffy robe

Honestly nothing beats hopping out of a hot bath and immediately putting on a massive fluffy robe. No robe laying around? Just find your biggest softest pair of pajamas instead. Nothing else matters tonight besides feeling as comfortable as possible so just wear whatever keeps you warm.

Listen to calming music

When you are totally exhausted just throw on your headphones and find a mellow playlist. Lie down flat on your bed and let the calm music wash away all that heavy stress. Best case scenario you just doze off and honestly that makes the whole day worth it.

Enjoy a healthy snack

Finish off your relaxing day with a little treat like a fresh fruit bowl or maybe even some ice cream in bed. Eating a nice snack is true self care because food just makes everyone happy. You just had a successful spa day and your wallet is still full.
