Nestlé Toll House puts a fresh remix on classic cookie dough

Nestlé Toll House puts a fresh remix on classic cookie dough

In a new initiative, Nestlé USA has refreshed its perennial favourite, Toll House cookie dough, with a new Chocolate Chip Remix range, which offers comfort foods with contemporary twists. The three varieties are now available across the country in the refrigerated dough section and are seeing more and more consumers trying them. The Remix versions aim to preserve that result while introducing the new flavor elements. These doughs are perfect for those looking for some added elevation, but without adding a ton of difficulty, to a kitchen essential.

Brown butter brings nutty depth

Naturally Flavored Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is a blend of brown butter and vanilla flavours with 100% real chocolate milk chocolate morsels. In addition to being a favorite among home bakers for making classic recipes richer and more complex, brown butter has become a popular addition. A toasted, slightly savory taste is what Nestlé is trying to recreate with its own version in a ready-to-bake format.

Oatmeal adds texture and warmth

Oatmeal adds texture and warmth

The baked cookies are chewier thanks to the addition of oats and a little warmer, thanks to the cinnamon, which many people can appreciate as an attribute of do-it-yourself baking. Nestlé calls it a modern classic with a good time capsule element. Oatmeal cookie fans will recognize the oatmeal flavor and the spice level, but it’s all in the original chocolate chip base.

Inside out flips the script

Inside out flips the script

The Inside Out Cookie features vanilla flavoring in the cocoa cookie dough and white candy morsels. Rather than having chocolate chips in a light chocolate-y taste, it has a more rich cocoa base with sweet white chunks. It’s a “mash up” for chocolate fans, Nestlé says. The contrast between the darker cookie dough and the lighter morsels forms a pleasing cookie when baked.

Each pack makes about 20 cookies

The 3 types are all packaged in 14 ounce packs of refrigerated cookies, which provide about 20 cookies. The dough is pre-scored and bakers can take chunks out and add them to a baking tray. This is the easiest format for baking at the end of the day or on a weeknight! The suggested retail price is $3.96 per pack, but actual retail price varies from retailer to retailer.

Baking takes about 10 to 15 minutes

Instructions call for a preheated oven, with times ranging from 10–11 minutes for the Inside Out variety to 13–15 minutes for the oatmeal version. Slightly rounding the dough corners before baking can produce rounder cookies. The brand emphasizes a no-fuss approach that still delivers the homemade texture Toll House is known for. Most home ovens will turn out a batch quickly enough for same-day snacking.

Real chocolate morsels stay central

Both the brown butter and oatmeal versions include milk chocolate morsels made with 100% real chocolate. The Inside Out version uses Nestlé Toll House Premier White Morsels. This focus on real chocolate pieces aligns with the brand’s longstanding positioning. The morsels remain visible in the finished cookies, maintaining the classic look while supporting the new flavor directions.

The Chocolate Chip Remix doughs rolled out at grocery stores, mass merchants, and supermarket chains across the United States. Found in the refrigerated section with other Toll House doughs, these flavors are a permanent addition. They come in bright yellow packaging.

A permanent update to the lineup

These three varieties are meant to be kept on shelves as opposed to limited releases and are not meant for the holiday market. In recent years, Nestlé has been steadily rolling out more refrigerated dough products to address a growing demand for convenience baking. The Remix line meets that strategy with variety without the need for measuring or mixing. It is easy to put in a warm batch of cookies for many families.
