13+ Atlanta Restaurants to Celebrate Cinco De Mayo

Posted by

Not sure where to celebrate Cinco de Mayo this year? I’ve put together a list of some of the top Mexican restaurants around Atlanta. There’s probably one in this list nearby for your Cinco de Mayo Celebration.

Buckhead – Cinco de Mayo

Botica is my go to for some of the best Mexican and Latin food around!

What an oustanding spot with the best patio! Make sure to try the Octopus and the Lamb tacos! Plus you can’t go wrong with any of the drinks!

Rock ‘N’ Taco – A newbie to Buckhead’s dining scene it Rock ‘N’ Taco. If you are a foodie, you’ll definitely want to visit here. The chef hails from some of the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group restaurants. This gourmet taqueria features tacos like the Roasted Lamb and Duck Confit. Don’t miss out on Chef Gabriel’s flan for dessert. They’ve also got a new location in Sandy Springs perfect for Cinco de Mayo.

Tacos and Tequilas – Located on Roswell Road in Buckhead, you wouldn’t know such a festive spot was tucked away in this strip mall. Start your Cindo de Mayo festivities off with a jalapeno margarita. I love their empanadas and their steak dishes are superb especially the steak specialties.

Party the Cinco de Mayo night away at all the Tin Lizzy locations. They’ll have multiple bars and lots of festive music. And of course the Buckhead location has one of the best patios for margarita sipping!

The Battery Atlanta for Cinco in Atlanta? Why not?

The El Felix at the Battery (Truist Park is a great choice for Cinco)

Oh. My. God. The brisket queso (pictured above)at the El Felix to die for. I can’t tell you how in love with it I am. But you should get other things. I’m also a sucker for the chicken mole enchiladas. And did you know they are going to serve drinks and food from the truck via the walk up window? Can’t wait to hit them up again!

Agave – If you’re looking for a more upscale spot to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, think about

Agave with it’s southwestern decor and beautiful brick walls. Splurge and get the fried lobster tail. It’s so worth it! Scallops and Shrimp and Jalapeno Grits are terrific too.

Superica

Located in Krog Street Market, Superica is a great choice for Cinco de Mayo celebrations.

With a lovely patio, you can grab a table with your pals or just belly up to the bar and order a margarita or cerveza. Delicious chips and salsas and the best sauce. Get the Pollo Perfecto, a crispy chicken leg and thigh covered in mole sauce. Want to celebrate early? They open for breakfast at 8am and serve it until 2 pm.

Twisted Taco in Marietta for Cinco de Mayo

If you lived in Atlanta during the early 2000s you may remember Twisted Taco as more of a bar and hangout than a food spot. But we are happy that the TT has come back and the tacos are delicious! We loved the shrimp and the steak tacos, but a unique favorite is the Cuban which even has plantains in it! Go check out Twisted Taco in Marietta.

LaBotana
Cheap, cheap cheap. Kind of a hole in the wall, but with decent food and drinks. Maybe it won’t be totally packed on Cinco de Mayo.
