Atlanta has an amazing art scene but sometimes you just do not want to whisper in a quiet gallery. If you are looking for something different this city is packed with creative spots that totally break the rules. You can throw paint around or walk right into a giant digital masterpiece. It is all about having fun and experiencing things hands-on. So grab a friend and check out these ten awesome art spots that skip the boring stuff and get straight to the good times.

Illuminarium Atlanta

This place on the BeltLine completely surrounds you with giant video projections and shaking floors so you feel like you are somewhere else. You do not even need virtual reality glasses to get lost in these cinematic worlds. The shows change often but it is always a wild ride that makes you forget you are in Georgia.

The Splatter Studio

Sometimes you just want to make a huge mess and call it a masterpiece. At this action painting studio in Virginia Highland you actually get to throw paint at the walls and your canvas without anyone yelling at you. It is super relaxing and you get to take your colorful chaos home when you are done.

Krog Street Tunnel

This underground spot connects Cabbagetown and Inman Park and it is completely covered in colorful graffiti. Local artists update the walls constantly so it is a living canvas that looks different every single week. Discover Atlanta even says it is the perfect spot for taking some really cool photos with your friends.

Tiny Doors ATL

Artist Karen Anderson Singer created these awesome seven-inch doors that are hidden all over the city. It turns a regular walk into a giant scavenger hunt to find these little handcrafted pieces of joy. Each door matches its neighborhood perfectly and finding them all is seriously addictive.

Atlanta BeltLine Outdoor Gallery

You do not have to pay for a ticket to see incredible sculptures and murals when you walk down this massive outdoor trail. It basically turns a sunny afternoon walk into a huge art tour. Plus you can grab a nice snack along the way which makes any art viewing way better.

Exhibition Hub Immersive Shows

If you have ever wanted to step inside a famous painting this is exactly where you need to go. They project artists like Monet and Klimt onto two-story walls with amazing music playing in the background. It is a crazy sensory experience and the Exhibition Hub has already amazed millions of visitors with these massive digital setups.

Trap Music Museum

This spot flips the whole museum idea upside down by celebrating Atlanta hip hop culture in a really interactive way. You walk through rooms set up like recording studios and neighborhood corner stores instead of looking at old artifacts in glass cases. It is loud and proud and gives you a real feel for the music that shapes the city.

Bubble Planet

Imagine walking into a massive room filled entirely with giant bubbles and whimsical sensory setups. This universe is totally interactive and brings out the inner kid in absolutely everyone who walks through the doors. It is goofy and weird in the best way possible.

Forward, Warrior Mural Project

Every year a bunch of talented artists take over the walls in Cabbagetown and paint incredible murals right in front of you. Watching the street art come to life in real time is way more exciting than just staring at a finished painting. You can chat with the creators and see the hard work that goes into making the city look beautiful.

Fernbank WildWoods

This outdoor nature path mixes huge ancient trees with awesome outdoor art displays right in the middle of the city. You might spot a tiny door or giant dinosaur tracks while you walk the elevated trails. It is a super peaceful way to enjoy some creativity while getting a breath of fresh air.
