Spacious suites and pristine beaches await in Gulf Shore’s Caribe Resort condo rental

Disclosure: My stay was hosted by Caribe Resort

If you live in the southeastern United States and you enjoy the beach, you’ve scoped out the good ones. Personally, I visit Florida’s panhandle a lot because my in-laws live there. It’s hard to beat those sugar sand beaches, isn’t it? But what you may not know, if you don’t live in the south, is that there are also gorgeous beaches in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores Alabama. And the best way to experience this destination is with a condo rental.

Caribe Suites condo rental in Gulf Shores

Spacious doesn’t even really begin to describe our condo rental at the Caribe Resort in Gulf Shores. At minimum there are two bedroom condos. The push is towards families, but it would be suitable for two couples or a girls weekend too. Luckily for us, we visited in the fall, after the families have left, so it was largely couples vacationing. Oh and I loved that the elevators are super fast – no waiting around for one at all.

Tip: Ladies, ask for a hair dryer when you check in as the condo (at least the one we stayed in didn’t come with one already).

It’s no secret that I love dining out. Heck, it’s why I started this blog in the first place! We enjoyed several restaurants while we were there (The Gulf, Steamer at Sandroc Cay and Salt, plus we visited Buzzcat’s for coffee and dessert twice). And while there is a restaurant on site at Caribe resort, it would be a shame to let the gorgeous kitchen go to waste in this condo rental. Plus, we had a lovely balcony, overlooking the water, which we took advantage of both mornings at breakfast and in the evening. So head to the closest grocery and stock up on eggs, coffee, bacon, wine…well you know the basics. Pick up salt, pepper and soap for washing as none of that is supplied here unfortunately.

Pool Lounging at Caribe resort (11 pools)

There are eleven, yes eleven, pools at the Caribe Resort in Gulf Shores. I love that this means that there won’t be one pool that is WAY overcrowded. I know I love my personal space and often forgo a pool visit if it is too crowded. But with the abundance of pools at this condo spot in Gulf Shores, you don’t have to worry about that.

Workout Room is incredible at this condo rental in Gulf Shores, Alabama

If you like to workout when you travel like I do (okay, don’t really enjoy it, but it is a must do if I want to dine at those oh-so-incredible restaurants), then you’ll appreciate that the workout room is large featuring many machines for my cardio (I hate that the most so I get that over with first) and lost of weight machines and weights as well. In fact, this condo rental in Gulf Shores has three of these gyms on site. While it was nearly empty when I went to workout, I could see it being more crowded during the summer season.

Trivia: The Supernatural Thriller Mary, starring Gary Oldman is was filmed at Gulf Shores earlier this year. The film is about a family that buys an old ship at auction and discovers the ship’s ghostly secrets once they are out on the water.

Golfer’s Rejoice

Want to play a full round of golf? Whether you are staying at a private home or condo rental in Gulf Shores, you are close to five championship courses within just a few miles of the resort. Peninsula, Craft Farms, Lost Key and the Famous Kiva Dunes are just a few.

Watersports at Caribe Resort

Right outside your condo rental is Caribe Marina. Here you can rent Jet skis or a pontoon boat, or take a dolphin cruise. We did the latter and loved it. Even in November when we visited the weather was perfect for this. Jet Ski rental is $110 per hour, or if you prefer to ride on a Pontoon boat (that’s more my speed), it starts at $12 for a one and half hour ride on the Caribe Cruiser. However, they have smaller sizes for six, eight, twelve and fifteen people that you can rent on your own with prices starting at around $200 for four hours. I totally want to go back and rent the Pontoon boat that comes with a slide!

Event space at Caribe Resort in Gulf Shores / Orange Beach, AL

When I visited Caribe, there was a college football game happening on Saturday evening. The resort opened up one of their event rooms so guests could watch the game on the big screen. But they did more than that, they offered guests beer and wine and even had snacks set out. We were also free to bring in outside food if we wanted to. It’s no big deal for them to do this in one of their event rooms as they’ve got 7000 square feet of event space. It’s a lovely idea to get to know others while you are traveling.

Rental prices at Caribe Resort range from about $200 to $400 per night for two bedroom condos. To check availability and find out more information about Caribe resort condo rentals in Gulf Shores, Alabama visit their website here.

As I mentioned earlier, the resort does cater to families, so there’s plenty of fun stuff for kids including a huge game room and a lazy river on the roof. But the resort doesn’t forget us adults with activities like summer sunrise yoga and wine and painting events.  All in all a condo rental is the way to go in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
