Fine Italian Dining OTP
Fusco’s via Roma is one of those great restaurants that you find by accident. At least that’s how I came across Fusco’s via Roma. I had gone up to Redtop Mountain to do some hiking with the boyfriend. Well, we got lost and ended up hiking about 10 miles in total. We only had had breakfast before leaving, so needless to say, we were famished on the drive back.
So, I said why not stop by one of the restaurants in Acworth as it was on the way back. We parked near the railroad tracks and started walking along main street. As soon as we came upon Fusco’s via Roma, the aroma drew us in. We chose to sit outside as it was such a beautiful evening. Service was great, although I felt a little guilty about being at such a nice restaurant in shorts in sneakers.
We ordered the calamari appetizer which was pretty good, but the entrees were fantastic! Glen ordered the Canal Street Sausage which is sausage and peppers that come in a skillet. And I ordered the Farfalle Diana (Scallops and Proscuitto in a Vodka cream sauce). Yummo is all I can say. Portions are large enough that I should have had leftovers, but we were so hungry we scarfed down every last bit of food.
If you look on the citysearch website, you’ll see either glowing reviews or scathing remarks. I’m surprised that not everyone would find this place absolutely delightful. The atmosphere is beautiful inside and the entrees are pretty creative – not what you would see at your average Italian Restaurant. As someone who lives OTP, I’m very appreciative of places like Fusco’s Via Roma as they are few and far between OTP.
Extras: $3 drafts on “Frosty Friday” and I’m not talkin domestic.
