The small restaurant houses just about seating for 40-45 people. The cozy atmosphere is good for small groups or couples looking for a quick meal. We were a group of six having an early post-holiday dinner. You’ll notice the friendly faces as soon as you come in The Rotisserie Shop. Our server was quick to greet us and offer her suggestions of menu favorites. Featured Image credit: The Rotisserie Shop / Chris Hornaday Photography
Half of us chose the restaurant’s namesake, rotisserie chicken. So juicy and tender, I even spied staff taking the chicken off of the large skewers, similar to what you find at the Brazilian steakhouses around Atlanta. This option comes with a choice of two sides. Get a house salad as one of your sides. Not only is the salad at The Rotisserie Shop a large portion but it comes with more than just the obligatory cheap iceburg lettuce and one lone tomato as many a restaurant sad side salad has been delivered to me. The Rotisserie Shop serves their house salad with quality lettuce, shaved carrot, radish and red onion. Oh and make sure to order the Lemon Parsley dressing too. Speaking of dressings and sauces, try the Cilantro Lime Tomatillo or Wild Mushroom Marsala to go with your chicken. Sauces at The Rotisserie Shop are all made in house. See the Tomatillo below right – it has a guacamole like consistency.
There are chalkboard specials that change quite frequently, so be sure to check The Rotisserie Shop’s Facebook page where they are pretty good about posting specials. One special, a buttermilk fried chicken salad with a black eyed pea cake was hearty and the lemon parsley dressing was a delicious garlic mess atop it.
Outstanding Chicken and Waffles OTP at The Rotisserie Shop!
Chicken and waffles can be hit or miss at restaurants. I think many add it to menus because of the popularity and low cost, but execute the dish poorly. But the huge waffle was lightly coated with maple syrup and pecans. Big, juicy pieces of buttermilk fried chicken ensure a very filling meal.
We all shared the Lemon Mascarpone Torta. It went around the the table twice with me savoring the last bite. Our total for six people was just $90. That’s pretty good for a restaurant that serves such quality food and sources locally.
Besides rotisserie, pulled pork and the like they also offer catering that features Italian favorites like lasagna, eggplant parmagiana, baked ziti and more. They also offer picnic meals for 3-4 for around $20. Tip: They have $2 tacos on Tuesdays, plus other weekly specials.
