Build Your Own Pizza at Osteria Mattone

New at Osteria Mattone, the Italian spot in Roswell, sister restaurant to the popular Table & Main, is the Build Your Own Pizza option.

Osteria Mattone has a lovely patio that is perfect for the fall days right now, just make sure to bring a light jacket if you are going to enjoy the outdoor patio in the evenings. When I attended the  build your own pizza luncheon, we sat inside and enjoyed the beautiful decor. The converted house has several rooms for dining, all with their own appeal.

Beautiful decor in this converted house in Roswell

When I was invited to the Build Your Own Pizza lunch, I thought it was a pizza making experience. I came prepared to make and bake my pizza. But rest assured, it’s nothing that complicated. You are given a mini dry erase board with a marker. From there, you’ll choose  your sauce, cheese and toppings. Prices start at $10.

Pick your sauce, cheese and toppings at Osteria Mattone in Roswell

Besides toppings aplenty, choose from cheeses like Piave (similar to Parmesan) or Taleggio. Feeling untraditional? Go with a pesto sauce instead of tomato basil. Toppings range in price from $1 – $3 and include items like asparagus, clams, and scallops and meats such a Bresaol, Coppa an Speck.

Be warned: The pizzas are huge! One is easily enough for two people to share. And you’ll want to share. That way, you can enjoy a delicious starter like the Octopus or veal meatballs, just like we did. The build your own pizza at Osteria Mattone is available for lunch and dinner Tuesday – Thursday. A nice feature of both Osteria Mattone and Table & Main is that they set aside tables for walk-ins, so you don’t have to wait too long for a table, even on weekends.
