All across the United States, people are lining up for the coolest new dessert trend: Rolled Ice cream. The Thai Rolled Ice Cream is just as it sounds. Rolls of ice cream similar to rolls of quarters are placed in a cup with different toppings like nuts, peppermint, gummy bears, etc. Customize it to your preference.
The ice cream is pretty generous portion that could easily feed about three people if you aren’t starving. Expect to spend about $6-7 on a cup of ice cream.
Watching the process is just as exciting as eating the rolled ice cream. The cream is poured onto a flat round pan. Underneath the pan the temperatures is well below zero. The entire process takes a couple minutes. As the cream hardens, it is spread in a thin layer across the pan into a rectangular form. Then a metal spatular is used to scrape the pieces into individual rolls.
