Manhattans are not for the weak. They are sophisticated. You graduate to them. I’ve become a huge fan in the last two years and find myself gravitating towards them. STK, with several locations in the United States, is a perfect mix of sexy bar and upscale restaurant.
But STK also has much more affordable items. Their 5-6-7- promotion includes $5 craft beer, $6 wine and $7 cocktails – including seasonal house favorites. And, don’t forget happy hour specials which vary by location. I know Atlanta’ STK includes $1.50 oysters and clams, $3 shrimp, $4 ceviche, and $4 snow crab claws.
Here’s the Not Your Daddy’s Manhattan recipe
Ingredients
2.5 oz Bulleit Bourbon
.5 oz Fernet Branca
.5 oz Carpano Antica
3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
2 Dashes Peychaud Bitters
1 Luxardo Cherry
Procedure
Rinse martini glass with Fernet Branca. Add bourbon and vermouth into mixing glass, add ice, then stir and strain into martini glass garnish with a luxardo cherry.

Great recipe. Certainly will go down well with summer around the corner; although i think i’d maybe try it with raspberries 🙂
