Never having driven a Buick before, I was excited to get behind the wheel of the 2021 Buick Envision. It’s definitely not the old Buick style that I had seen on the roads.
I am lucky in that my Father in Law has a beach house. This means that Glen and I can decide on a whim to visit Panama City Beach (with a respectful notice of course). If you’ve ever done the 6 hour drive from Atlanta to Panama City Beach you know it isn’t all easy highway driving. The route forces you through many small towns and two-lane roads. However, we were glad to have the all new 2021 Buick Envision for our ride down to the beach.
Most of the time, our trips revolve around holiday weekends, but it gets so crazy busy at the beach, this beach trip we went the weekend before Memorial Day. It was glorious, albeit a short trip – Thursday – Sunday. The fun part was my stepdaughter, her hubby and my grandbaby, Ella, came too.
During the ride down, I was able to use Buick’s wifi hotspot to work on my laptop while hubby drove. And even though I was working we had an easy to use infotainment system with plenty of satellite radio stations to choose from so we were never bored. And Glen loved that the seats come with a roller bar that you can enable. It is like having a small massage while you drive!
It was a completely restful vacation we all needed. Rather than pack a bunch of things into a couple days, we slept in, cooked at home and enjoyed time at the beach of course. Our granddaughter, Ella, was super scared to put her tiny feet in the sand, but after she saw another baby do it, she was all in.

Sure, infotainment systems are pretty standard in cars, but I love how this infotainment system in the 2021 Buick Envision is curved so it makes it really easy for the drive to see it and use it. Most infotainment systems are flush with the dashboard, but Buick really took the drive into consideration when they made this car.

Okay, this is totally incredible that this car comes with a roller bar in it that you can enable while you are driving. On long road trips, this is especially helpful. But really for anyone who suffers from any kind of back pain, this is a great feature in the Buick Envision for 2021.
Wireless Charging in the Buick Envision
Sure, lots of cars come with wireless charging capabilities, that’s not a new thing. But I do like how large the space is as it doesn’t get cramped.
WiFi Hotspot in the Buick Envision
I’ve never used a Wifi hotspot in a car before. I’ve had my cell act as a hotspot and that worked fine. But I was skeptical as to how good the wifi in the car would work. But I put it to the test and performed perfectly. I never lost the signal and I had my laptop in use for most of the way down to the beach and still used it for several hours coming back. Note that to use the wifi hotspot in the Buick Envision, you will need to subscribe to a service to have this enabled.
Lots of storage space in the Buick Envision
Why is that I always feel like there’s just never enough storage space in cars. I don’t mean the back or trunk, I mean the front near the drive for all that extra miscellaneous stuff. I end up using the cup holders for my keys and sunglasses often because I don’t want them to be hidden away.
As homeowners, we often need supplies for projects or just transporting items we buy. We love buying plants for our yard in Panama City Beach. The prices are much more affordable there than in Atlanta. We loaded our Buick Envision up and were able to put some life back into our planters!
Besides all the many features I loved about the 2021 Envision, the gas mileage was quite good too. I always wonder how a 4-cylinder will perform but it was fantastic on our drive and even the busy Atlanta highways.
